Happy Seasons in Winnipeg & Rose Cousins Show

Posted on Sunday, March 25th, 2012.

Good people of Winnipeg, and other places too…

It has been spring, summer, and now winter again all in the space of one week but I love this town to pieces and I am so happy to have been home, even for a little while.

On Thursday I leave for Ottawa to meet up and SING with the girls at the Junos! I can’t wait – Nicky, Heather and I have not sung together since September! It’s gonna be so great.

Before I go I am singing with Rose Cousins at the West End Cultural Centre on Wednesday night for her CD release – can’t wait for this either. And I think JP Hoe will be there too and my good friend Austin Nevins…how could this be better??

Not only that but Rose’s new record – We Have Made a Spark – is seriously breaking my heart (in the best possible way). Go out and get it.

Also in my player – Declan O’Rourke‘s CD Mag Pai Zai. Beautiful singersongwriter from Ireland… And lingering in my brain – Half Blood Blues, by Esi Edugyan. Exquisite novel by a great writer from Victoria.

More from me soon. Love and happy Seasons, Ruth
